The 33rd edition of the North Sea Jazz Festival will have a Jazzy kick-off in the Euromast. Friday 11 July, from 9 am till 11 am the landmark of Rotterdam will be serving an exclusive jazz breakfast, during which one can enjoy a very special performance by Jeroen van Vliet and Eric Vloeimans.

At the door early guests will be welcomed by Top Dog Brass Band. This funky marching band from the East of Germany always manages to make people dance. Inside one is welcomed with a glass of bubbly wine and a magnificent view over Rotterdam. Each year, North Sea Jazz and Muziek Centrum Nederland, by order of the 'Nederlands Fonds voor de Podiumkunsten+' (Dutch fund for the performing arts), grant a 'free' composition assignment to a young and promising jazz composer. The North Sea Jazz Composition assignment for 2008 is granted to pianist/composer Jeroen van Vliet. Together with Rotterdam based trumpet player Erik Vloeimans, he will give a special performance for the early birds during breakfast. The entire composition assignment can be heard on Friday evening at the festival, at 5.30 pm.

The North Sea Jazz breakfast is specially arranged by chef Pascual Martens and will start at 9 am. It costs €27.50 per person, children aged 4 to 11 €16,-. The jazz breakfast includes a glass of bubbly wine, various rolls and toppings, coffee, tea, freshly squeezed orange juice, a glass of bubbly wine, entrance to the Euromast and Euroscoop.
